Food and Nutrition Innovation: The Foundation of Human Resource Quality for Sustainable Economic Growth

On 1 October 2025, a significant momentum in Indonesia’s efforts to accelerate the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was marked by the online Kick-Off of the Integrated Sustainability Indonesia Movement (I-SIM) 2025. This event specifically highlighted the importance of Food and Nutrition Innovation as a key to improving the quality of Human Resources (HR), driving sustainable economic growth, and playing a strategic role in poverty reduction. The I-SIM 2025 Kick-Off opened with remarks from the President Director of PT Surveyor Indonesia, Sandry Pasambuna, and was attended by prominent figures from regional government associations and ministries, including Sarman Simanjorang, Executive Director of APKASI; Alwis Rustam, Executive Director of APEKSI; Nita Sosiawati, a representative from the Ministry of Home Affairs; and Pungkas Bahjuri Ali, Head of the National Secretariat for SDGs at the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas.

Through a collaboration between PT Surveyor Indonesia with APEKSI, APKASI, and KPPOD, and under the supervision of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, the I-SIM 2025 program encourages all local governments to strengthen their strategic role as the spearhead of public services. Local governments play a crucial role because they deal directly with the community, making them key to ensuring that every SDGs indicator, including those related to food security and nutrition, is implemented well, innovatively, and sustainably. The I-SIM 2025 Kick Off is expected to be a strong starting point to encourage the acceleration of achieving the SDGs targets by 2030 through concrete, inclusive actions.
