City-to-City Learning and Innovation Lab: Waste Management Practice

APEKSI participated in the “City-to-City Learning and Innovation Lab: Waste Management Practices,” organized by UCLG ASPAC and hosted by the Depok City Government on July 28, 2026, at the Margo City Hotel, Depok. The event brought together about 90 participants—including representatives from city and regional governments, ministries, development partners, and experts—to strengthen collaboration to establish more effective, integrated, and sustainable urban waste management systems through the exchange of knowledge and best practices.

During the event, APEKSI played an active role as a strategic partner representing Indonesian city governments in “Group Discussion B,” which focused on waste management governance, policy, and financing. APEKSI presented its views and recommendations regarding the strengthening of policies, institutional frameworks, financing mechanisms, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and community participation in support of urban waste management. Through this engagement, APEKSI helped foster synergy among city governments, the central government, and development partners to develop recommendations and follow-up actions that cities across Indonesia can replicate, thereby accelerating the realization of inclusive, innovative, and sustainable waste management.
