APEKSI and Daejeon Technopark Forge Partnership to Implement Smart City Projects in Indonesia

Jakarta – APEKSI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Daejeon Technopark on November 5, 2026. The agreement was signed by APEKSI Executive Director Alwis Rustam and the President of Daejeon Technopark, Park Min-beom. This partnership aims to establish a collaborative framework for implementing “Smart City Testbed Projects” across various regions in Indonesia under the auspices of APEKSI.

Through this strategic collaboration, both parties will focus on demonstrating and deploying technologies from South Korean companies—recommended by Daejeon Technopark—to address the specific needs of Indonesian cities. Daejeon Technopark will identify technology solution providers and offer grant assistance to help fund these pilot projects. Meanwhile, APEKSI holds full authority to select and coordinate the participating cities in Indonesia, ensuring the successful implementation and demonstration of these technologies at the local level.

The MoU is effective for one year from the date of signing and may be automatically renewed for subsequent periods. Specific details—such as the exact number of participating cities, project distribution, and the technical scope of these smart city initiatives—will be determined through further mutual agreement between APEKSI and Daejeon Technopark. This initial step is expected to accelerate digital transformation and provide effective urban technology solutions for city governments throughout Indonesia.
