Surakarta — APEKSI Muda once again presented Cerita Kota Cerita Kita (CKCK)—or City Stories, Our Stories—on September 4, 2026, bringing together around 100 young people from Surakarta and the surrounding areas. The event served as a platform for the younger generation to share stories, express concerns, and voice ideas regarding various issues and the future of the city. The program began with a 60-minute Joyful Yoga session, followed by a sharing session with the Mayor of Surakarta, Respati Ardi, who joined the participants as a conversation partner.
Moving beyond storytelling, participants were divided into eight groups to discuss and respond to a series of prompt questions found on CKCK cards. Through an interactive and participatory approach, participants were encouraged to transform their concerns into actionable ideas and recognize the importance of collaboration in city-building. “From this activity, we concluded that collaboration among young people is indeed crucial and needs to be strengthened,” said Musa, a member of YCC Surakarta 2025.
The CKCK event in Surakarta is part of APEKSI Muda’s initiative to foster closer, more inclusive dialogue between young people and the city government. Collaboration between communities and the government is key to ensuring that the voices of the younger generation translate into relevant ideas for urban development. APEKSI Muda extends its appreciation and gratitude to CivicLab, Balekambang, and the Surakarta City Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) for their collaboration and support in making the CKCK event in Surakarta a success.
