Medan – The Plenary Session of the XVIII National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Association of Indonesian Municipal Governments (APEKSI) was held on July 2 2026, attended by 88 mayors, 4 deputy mayors, 2 regional secretaries and 1 head of Bappeda. They succeeded in agreeing on 10 Strategic Recommendations. The ten main points include strengthening fiscal capacity, structuring ASN/PPPK policies, accelerating infrastructure, digital transformation, environmental resilience, and actively involving the younger generation in city development, as well as agreeing on the City of Bandung to host the XIX APEKSI 2027 National Working Meeting.
The formulation of recommendations was born from the results of consolidation and collaboration space through various forums. Starting from Youth City Changers (YCC), Ladies Program, sectoral forums (Bappeda, Environment, Commerce, Food, Investment Business), Archipelago Cultural Carnival, to Indonesia City Expo (ICE).
These agreed recommendations will later become APEKSI’s advocacy agenda for the central government. This effort is carried out as a form of joint commitment to realizing urban development that is resilient, adaptive, inclusive and sustainable for the welfare of the community.
