Bukittinggi City hosted the Regional Commissariat Assembly I (Muskomwil) on 28-30 April 2025, which was attended by the Minister of Culture and the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs. In addition to the recommendations for the VII National Assembly in Surabaya, the Regional Commissariat I board was elected, Chairperson: Mayor of Medan, Deputy Chairpersons: Mayor of Banda Aceh, Mayor of Lhokseumawe, and Mayor of Padang Panjang.
