Strengthening Center-Region Synergy: APEKSI and APKASI Back Integrated Urban Development Program (NUDP) Socialization

APEKSI and APKASI demonstrated their strong commitment by attending the Socialization of the National Urban Development Program (NUDP). The event was hosted by the Directorate General of Regional Development at the Ministry of Home Affairs, both offline and online, on Friday, 4 July 2025. The NUDP (National Urban Development Program) is viewed as a strategic step toward realizing urban development that is more integrated, cohesive, and sustainable across Indonesia. The program is specifically designed to facilitate the work of local governments, rather than imposing additional administrative burdens. With a clear framework, NUDP is expected to provide detailed direction from planning and implementation right up to the exit strategy sta

The socialization was attended in person by regional leaders, including the Mayors of Bengkulu, Tangerang, and Malang, signaling direct support from the city executive level. The discussion highlighted the crucial importance of central-regional integration that genuinely takes into account the diverse contexts of each region. The regional leaders emphasized the need for NUDP policies that are flexible and not one-size-fits-all, where the differing geographical, social, and economic challenges among cities can be accommodated. The active involvement of APEKSI and APKASI in this forum is key to ensuring that NUDP truly facilitates the work of local governments and results in urban development policies that are targeted and have an optimal impact across nation.
