APEKSI, IAP, and WRI, Encourage the Implementation of Nature-Based Solutions

 

Bappeda and Spatial Planning held by APEKSI, IAP Indonesia, WRI Indonesia, and Surabaya City Government on 24 November 2023 is an important milestone considering the imminent end of the term of office of regional heads and the Regional Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMD) in many regions, as well as the approaching regional head elections simultaneously in 2024, there is an urgent need to ensure continuity of planning and development.

 

This forum opens the latest communication channels between Indonesian city governments, strengthens regional planning and spatial planning, as well as facilitates regional aspirations to the central government, and facilitates discussion sessions and sharing knowledge of cities in Indonesia regarding the initiation and continuation of the performance of mainstreaming Nature-Based Solutions (SBA ) into the Detailed Spatial Planning Plans (RDTR) of Indonesian cities.

 

Implementing SBA is the main focus because of its potential to support development and spatial planning in accordance with regional characteristics and environmental carrying capacity, to ensure sustainable development and adaptation to climate change and disaster risks.
