Singkawang Hosts CKCK, a Hub for Youth Creativity and Tangible Action

Singkawang – APEKSI, through its “APEKSI Muda: Cerita Kota Cerita Kita” (CKCK – City Stories, Our Stories) initiative, held an event at Café Tepi Sungai on October 15, 2026. The gathering brought together approximately 100 creative young people from the cities of Singkawang and Pontianak. Such collaborative spaces are considered highly strategic for city governments to capture the aspirations, concerns, and fresh ideas directly from the younger generation—the driving force behind regional development.

Using an interactive method involving “CKCK cards,” participants—divided into eight groups—exchanged perspectives on critical urban issues. The lively discussions covered not only challenges within the community and cultural sectors but also highlighted environmental concerns and various ongoing local initiatives. This inclusive approach demonstrates that every young person possesses a unique story and a valuable, tangible contribution to the future of their city.

APEKSI continues to encourage its member cities to replicate such dialogue spaces to strengthen synergy between the government and youth communities. This collaborative step aligns with APEKSI’s vision of building cities that are sustainable, progressive, and welcoming to youth-led innovation. Through the momentum generated by CKCK Singkawang, it is hoped that the concerns shared can be transformed into concrete actions that create a broad, positive impact on the advancement of cities across Indonesia.
