APEKSI attended the launch of the 2026-2030 Indonesian Digital Infrastructure Roadmap, organized by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas (Bappenas) in Jakarta on Wednesday (July 29, 2026). On the occasion, Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi), Meutya Hafid, emphasized that national digital infrastructure development has officially entered a new phase. Technological development in Indonesia is no longer solely focused on providing access, but must also drive economic growth, improve the quality of human resources, and maintain digital security and sovereignty.
Menkomdigi explained that the direction of digital development embraces three main principles: growth, connection, and security, with priorities shifting from mere network coverage to meaningful connectivity. Digital infrastructure is now understood not only as physical infrastructure such as base stations (BTS), satellites, submarine cables, and data centers, but also encompasses supporting components such as cloud computing, edge computing, computing capacity, and regulations and governance, integrated within a single national architecture. To achieve this goal, the government continues to develop mobile broadband, expand fixed broadband through fiberization and Internet Village programs, and strengthen the Submarine Cable Communication System (SKKL) to maintain national infrastructure resilience.
In addition to connectivity, the principles of safe and trusted technology and digital sovereignty are crucial pillars for ensuring the public’s safe use of technology. The book launch, attended by Mastel Chairman Sarwono Atmosutarno and Telkom University Bandung Rector Suyanto, serves as a strategic reference for local governments.
