APEKSI acted as a facilitator to oversee the integration of social commitments at the city level during the National Policy Dialogue and SIRA Program Workshop held on May 6, 2026, in Jakarta. This event was a collaboration between ICLEI Indonesia and the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).
The theme: From Commitment to Implementation: Bridging National and Regional Policies in Mainstreaming Gender, Disability, and Social Inclusion for Urban Climate Resilience, focused primarily on integrating GEDSI (Gender, Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion) principles to ensure the inclusion of vulnerable groups in climate planning.
The SIRA (Socially Inclusive Resilience in Asia) program is a three-year initiative (2024–2027) funded by CLARE, IDRC Canada, and UK International Development. The program assists 10 ICLEI member cities (including Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Balikpapan, Banda Aceh, and Bogor) in developing inclusive urban resilience strategies.
