New Leadership for APEKSI Komwil IV Established

Kediri City successfully hosted the Regional Commissariat Assembly Meeting (Muskomwil IV) of APEKSI, which took place energetically from 16-18 July 2025. This crucial meeting was attended by city government representatives from various regions, aiming to evaluate performance, formulate recommendations, and prepare the work program for APEKSI’s Komwil IV for the upcoming period. A major outcome of the Muskomwil was the establishment of a new leadership structure that will guide regional collaboration. The Mayor of Malang was elected and confirmed as the Chairperson of Komwil IV, while the Mayor of Kupang was entrusted with the position of Deputy Chairperson. This dual leadership is expected to strengthen synergy among cities in the eastern region of Indonesia in tackling specific urban development challenges.

In addition to appointing the new leadership, Muskomwil IV in Kediri also generated a number of recommendations and work programs for Komwil IV, focusing on crucial issues such as local economic development, public service innovation, and environmental sustainability. These programs are designed to ensure that every member city of Komwil IV can share best practices and collectively address common issues. Another key point from the meeting results was the determination of the location for the subsequent meeting: Denpasar City was nominated as the host for the 4th Regional Commissariat Working Meeting (Rekerwil IV) in 2026. This designation affirms Denpasar’s role as the next center for regional collaboration and signals optimism for increased inter-city cooperation in the region.
