The Barista and Roaster Scheme Competency Training at the Molucca Coffee Party 2026 took place on May 21-22, 2026, at SMP Negeri 2 Ambon. Ambon Mayor Bodewin M. Wattimena opened the event and emphasized in his remarks that coffee is a cultural identity of Maluku with promising economic value and a key opportunity for the coffee shop trend driven by the younger generation. This demonstrates the Ambon City Government’s support in facilitating MSMEs through market strengthening and close collaboration with the local community.
APEKSI’s support through the APEKSI Muda Program integrates Youth City Changers (YCC) to actively participate in overseeing the downstreaming of this local potential. The Director of the Moluccas Creative Development Team, Viani (YCC 2025 Alumni), stated that this training resulted in 30 of 37 applicants receiving official BNSP certification, enhancing their professional credibility. The entire series of activities, aligned with APEKSI’s youth empowerment mission, will conclude with a lively Coffee Festival at Pattimura Park on May 23.
