Building Regional Synergy: Denpasar Holds Regional Commissariat IV Meeting

Denpasar City hosted the Regional Commissariat IV Meeting (Komwil) of APEKSI on May 21-23, 2026. The event was attended by Mayors, Deputy Mayors, and representatives of local governments from various cities in East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara. The meeting served as a strategic forum to strengthen ties and align work programs among cities to advance local areas.

The Komwil meeting focused on formulating concrete solutions to increasingly complex urban challenges, from digital bureaucratic transformation and waste management to sustainable tourism development post-pandemic. The meeting resulted in several important recommendations and cross-regional collaboration agreements that will be taken to the national level. The meeting was dynamic yet warm, concluding with a shared commitment to accelerate community-based economic recovery in Region IV.

Denpasar was chosen as the host city for a reason: it is considered successful in integrating local culture with modern innovation (smart city), serving as a blueprint for other Komwil members. Through intensive panel discussions and plenary sessions, city leaders shared best practices for adaptation in their respective regions.
