A strategic collaboration between SUAR and APEKSI was successfully held at a Roundtable Decision forum themed “Encouraging Increased City Regional Original Revenue” on Thursday, December 11, 2025, in Jakarta. This high-level discussion provided crucial momentum for local governments to break free from dependence on central transfer funds, featuring key figures such as the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Bima Arya Sugiarto, and the Chairman of APEKSI, Eri Cahyadi. The forum not only examined regulatory challenges but also highlighted the urgency of digital transformation and cross-sector synergy as the primary foundation for future city fiscal independence.
Moderated by Sutta Dharmasaputra, the forum generated diverse perspectives on solutions through a pentahelix collaboration involving regulators, economic experts, and business practitioners. The presence of representatives from the State-Owned Enterprises Agency (BP BUMN), the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), and academics from the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LPEM UI) enriched the roadmap for optimizing regional revenue, particularly in exploring the potential of dormant assets and the tourism sector. The conclusion of this roundtable confirms that increasing Regional Original Income (PAD) is not simply about raising tax rates, but rather creating a healthy investment ecosystem and innovative financial governance to strengthen sustainable public services.
