JAKARTA – APEKSI officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the One Data Indonesia (SDI) Collaboration with the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas on January 26, 2026. This strategic step was taken to strengthen national data governance and ensure integrated data management to support more accurate national development. Through this collaboration, APEKSI is committed to overcoming common obstacles, such as limited interagency integration, cross-sectoral data disputes, and administrative barriers that have previously required repeated PKS/MoUs for basic data exchange.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that Presidential Regulation No. 39 of 2019 concerning One Data Indonesia needs to be strengthened with a firmer legal basis through the One Data Bill (RUU). This bill is projected to be a key pillar in ensuring the optimal operation of digital government, encompassing cross-border data management and data needs at the rural and non-governmental levels. With this legal framework, it is hoped that greater data security and cross-sector data interoperability can be achieved, enabling automatic, secure, system-based access.
For city governments, this synergy is key to minimizing reliance on complex data exchange bureaucracies. APEKSI hopes that the One Data Indonesia Bill will encourage all stakeholders to commit to providing and sharing data transparently. With nationally connected data, city governments can formulate more targeted, effective, and evidence-based public policies for the well-being of urban communities across Indonesia.
