APEKSI commitment to youth empowerment through the staging of a Youth Talk titled: Communication & Advocacy Strategies for Young People to the City Government. This highly relevant discussion was held on 23 August 2025, online via Zoom Meeting and broadcast live on the Official APEKSI YouTube channel. The primary objective of this Youth Talk was to equip young people, both students and community activists, with the practical knowledge and skills on how they can effectively convey aspirations, provide constructive input, and conduct policy advocacy to their respective municipal governments.
The session specifically highlighted the importance of open and transparent communication channels between youth and the bureaucracy. Speakers shared tips on how to formulate clear messages, choose the appropriate communication medium (digital or in-person), and understand the decision-making framework at the city level. APEKSI hopes that through this event, youth participation in the city development process will increase, not only as watchdogs but also as strategic partners to local governments. By enhancing young people’s advocacy skills, the aim is to foster urban policies that are more inclusive, responsive, and truly reflective of the needs of all elements of society.
