Attended by approximately 24 cities within Regional Fiscal Consultative Council (Komwil I), the event highlighted the importance of optimizing local revenue (PAD), investment, economic growth, and social synergy through city government collaboration. The Head of Komwil I\/Mayor of Medan, Rico Tri Putra Bayu Waas, stated that the forum served to share experiences and best practices related to city fiscal management. Meanwhile, the host city&#8217;s Mayor, Amsakar Achmad, outlined his strategy for strengthening Batam&#8217;s fiscal position through economic growth, investment, workforce competency development, and synergy with the Batam Free Trade Zone Authority (BP Batam).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Batam has a strong economic foundation, with economic growth of 6.76 percent in 2025 and a GRDP of approximately IDR 253.64 trillion. Investment realization throughout 2025 reached IDR 69.3 trillion, while local revenue (PAD) increased from around IDR 975 billion in 2020 to IDR 2.253 trillion in 2025, representing a 131 percent growth. Amidst these achievements, the government continues to encourage workforce competency improvement, economic diversification, and the development of value-added sectors such as data centers.
